A Central Queensland hospital, a men’s health facility, sporting clubs and social groups, and other community organisations have received a creative boost, thanks to the generous talents of CQUniversity students.

Final-year Bachelor of Digital Media students shared their skills to deliver diverse and eye-catching projects across web, branding, design, print, animation and video as part of CQU’s annual pro bono digital media program.

For the past decade, the program has offered community support through a consultancy model where students work with not-for-profit organisations to deliver creative projects.

These projects were officially launched at the 2025 Bachelor of Digital Media Student Showcase, which welcomed more than 60 online guests, including members of the public, CQU staff, students and alumni.

Digital Media Lecturer Regina John Luan thanked everyone who contributed to the planning, preparation and support of the event, as well as to the students and alumni who participated in the presentations.

“I was delighted with how the showcase celebrated the creativity and achievements of our Bachelor of Digital Media students,” Ms Luan said.

“It was wonderful to see alumni, staff and community members come together in support of their work.

"I look forward to continuing this spirit of collaboration and welcome community partners to connect with me for future pro bono and joint projects that create meaningful learning experiences for our students.”

Attendees also saw Digital Media Lecturer Jim Picton launch a 3D exhibition which featured the work of current and former students. The exhibition will remain accessible to the public online for one month.

Mr Picton said the exhibition provided a chance to showcase the breadth of talent in the Bachelor of Digital Media cohort.

“Digital media is a very competitive space and we want to set our students up for success,” he said.

“Showcasing this work to the community and collaborating with industry may present new opportunities for our students after graduation.

"I’m incredibly proud of the professionalism and creativity demonstrated across this year’s projects which has reflected the high calibre of emerging talent.”
