Start your culinary career with our Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. This qualification provides students with the skills and knowledge to explore the world of culinary arts within a dynamic commercial kitchen setting. This qualification reflects the role of cooks who use a wide range of well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This course has no residential schools.
Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, CQUniversity requires completion of bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher-level course.
ADDITIONAL STUDY REQUIREMENTS
- Students require access to a computer with internet and should have a basic level of computer skills to use our online learning system.
- Non apprentice students must attend campus three days per week and also participate in services in industry. Work/industry placement is the responsibility of the student to coordinate.

Fees & Scholarships
Fee for Service/ Full Fee
Fee for Service/Full Fee occurs when the full tuition fee is charged to students. This may occur when the course is not included in government subsidy program/s or the student is not eligible for a government subsidy. These students are obligated to cover the entire cost. Free apprenticeships for under 25s will cover the cost of training for employers who commence an eligible new apprentice or trainee, or already have an existing apprentice or trainee aged under 25. Find out more.
Queensland Government subsidies are available for eligible applicants to greatly reduce the cost of apprentice and trainee training.
User Choice funding provides a contribution that reduces the cost of training. Eligible apprentices and trainees will be charged $1.60 per nominal hour. Concession rates apply to eligible students based on provided evidence.
